Very proud and excited to announce that my son Tobias's new novella, The Fair Grounds, is now available for preorder from P.S. Publishing in the UK. This is Tobias's third book, following his novel, The Magician's Study (Turtle Point Press 2004) and his collection of short stories, The Emperor's Toy Chest (P.S. Publishing 2011). The Fair Grounds tells the story of Francis North, designer of graveyards, and is set in the fictional upstate New York village of Kaaterskill. The book is filled with echoes of Washington Irving's classic, The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. It's a "fabulist examination of the funereal, where the living and the the dead alike are ruled by the baleful spirit of the Horseman." The Fair Grounds is a strange and wonderful book.
